Weld Re-8 Seeks Input On School Calendar 

Weld Re-8 is currently in the process of developing school calendar options for the 2012-2013 school year.  The calendar committee would like input from our families and the community to help guide the decision making.  The calendar options will be presented to the Board of Education who will make the ultimate decision. 

A calendar survey is available online ( please click on the link below) beginning February 1 or may be completed on a paper version available at the school and district offices.  Surveys are due by February 8, 2012.  

These are some of the options: 

  • Continue with a similar calendar and break schedule as has been done the last several years
  • Modify our current calendar; a schedule such as this would start in mid August and end after the first week in June.  Students (elementary through high school) would receive 1 week breaks in October and November, December, January, March and April. 
  • Modify our current calendar.  Start in mid August and include fall and winter breaks.  Beginning in March 2013, go to 4 days a week for the remainder of the year, ending the last week in June.

Weld Re-8 Busca Opiniones Sobre el Calendario Escolar 

Weld Re-8 se encuentra en el proceso de desarrollo de opciones para el calendario escolar del año 2012-2013.  El comité del calendario desearía que nuestras familias y la comunidad ayudaran a guiarlos en la toma de decisiones.  Las opciones para el calendario serán presentadas ante la Mesa Directiva de Educación quienes harán la decisión final. 

Una encuesta sobre el calendario está disponible en línea (favor de hacer clic en el enlace inferior) comenzando el 1º de febrero podrá usted completar la versión disponible en las escuelas y en las oficinas del distrito.  Las encuestas se vencen para el día 8 de febrero, 2012. 

Estas son algunas de las opciones:

  • Continuar con un calendario similar y repartir el horario como se ha hecho durante los últimos años
  • Modificar nuestro presente calendario, un horario como este se iniciaría a mediados de agosto y terminaría después de la primera semana de junio.  Los estudiantes (de primaria hasta la preparatoria) recibirían una semana de descanso en octubre y noviembre, diciembre, enero, marzo y abril.

Modificar nuestro presente calendario.  Comenzar a mediados del mes de agosto e incluir las vacaciones del otoño y del invierno.  Comenzando en marzo 2013, ir a 4 días por el resto del año escolar, terminando la última semana de junio.
